Liverpool Productions
Dairy — Rio Natsume

Jumping out in front from the pole
position is the wondrous Rio Natsume in Waterdrop, a Liverpool production which begins with a three minute pre-credit sequence of Rio in a white bikini.
She's in some sort of natural sea shore crater. The sea surges in as Rio stands amidst a setting devoid of anything except rocks and stones carried in by the tides. The music is very ethereal as Rio first cloaks, and then de-cloaks with a lengthy panel of white chiffon.
I've no idea what meaning was intended, but before we leave this setting, the sound track is alive with
Yesterday's Gone.

  |
Following this, we find ourselves on a hilltop with a very strange beach below. Rio is asked to walk down the steps, so she can struggle to scramble up the same steep hillside in the sand while tugging a red plastic sled behind her, so she can slide down the hillside in the sled. Got all that? Needless to say, it wasn't an enjoyable scene to watch. And if you think I didn't care for it, Rio liked it even less, as you could hear her complaining throughout the entire scene.
  |
Before that song can conclude we get transported to a beach scene where Rio is introduced to a horse. She mounts the horse and is off on a slow and short shore walk with the gallant steed.
There's something about a horse on the
seashore. Some lovely shots here, but...
|
So three scenes in, and we can begin to connect the dots — water in every scene so far, Rio in a revealing top in each scene, but not even a hint of a blue sky, or anything resembling glamour.
The next scene is just so hard to explain. We are in a bamboo forest. There's a gentle rain falling. A kimono-clad woman carrying a red parasol approaches. It is Rio. It is so unusual to see her dressed this way. The flute music is attractive.
| We follow her down the path, past a bubbling creek, into a small village where she enters a shop where she shoots bb's from an air rifle at targets no more than two feet away. You know you will be asking yourself, "What were they thinking?"
What, if anything, were they thinking?
|
  |
Fortunately, before long, we find ourselves back in the gentle rain. The stand of bamboo trees is both spectacular as well as beautiful. Rio looks glorious but this is an all too brief scene that is really about the setting not the model. But quickly they bring Rio back into play as she has to scoop water from the forest creek
on to her thin legs. Maybe the whole point is to look down into her kimono where it gaps away from body as she bends forward.
Next Rio is walking on a trail deep in a forest. We hear the sound of water falling. Rio's blouse is quite tight and certainly accentuates the size of her breasts. And moments later the water sounds are immense. Rio breaks into a broad smile and runs forward. Now we see the lush waterfall and the sizeable pool complete with a rainbow. This is certainly the first rainbow I've seen in an idol video. Extraordinary!
  |
But wait, it gets better! After a few misty minutes of very ethereal musical chanting as Rio contemplates the beauty of the waterfall, the music switches gears and we next hear
a Brazilian samba. Rio spots a neat pool and immediately takes off her clothes to reveal that she
already had a bikini on beneath her blouse and skirt.
|
She submerges into the pool.
When she stands, we see how clingy her wet bathing suit is. The music has now segued into a piano-based tune. Strings soon follow. Despite the flawed lighting, for the first time we now get some fleeting glimpses of how immense her boobs are in the bikini.
Rio has two more scenes wearing the same bikini. She's in another small pool near the waterfall, and then she's under a bit of rock where a small amount
of water falls on her. This is not a waterfall in the usual sense, nor is it a shower in the usual sense. This is somewhere in between. Again we marvel at her bust-line despite a jarring and unexpected change in the music.
|
If you are finding this DVD difficult
to follow, spare a thought for our reviewer, who had to
watch the thing. |
  |
Next we meet Rio in a brilliant red kimono. She looks great only she's wearing cheap rubber thong sandals on her feet. Beneath her kimono there's a faux leopard skin bikini. But she doesn't quite get into the pool.
  |
Instead we find her on this scary bridge over a river bed. The bridge is wide enough for about one person at a time, but obviously it is quite
robust, as Rio runs to middle where she can stop and bounce around to make her bosom jiggle. |
We can breathe a sigh of relief as the bridge withstood the tremors. Sadly so did her bikini top.
Rio goes for a soak in these unusual vats or tanks which are quite likely
onsen (hot springs). As Rio soaks we hear a swell stretch of acoustic guitar music. Nice string plucking but seemingly misplaced for a setting like this. In fact this is one of major complaints about the video. The music is so eclectic that it seems like most of the time, the music was not picked to fit the scenes. Almost as if the producer picked the music without seeing the video.
"Ah-so, that's really different — let's use it."
|
Of course the scene changes as does the music. We next find Rio in a red bikini in a room with one wall that resembles a checkerboard.
|
  |
What was the music? Would you believe some 1960's surfers rock style music? Again I say, what were they thinking? Before you can even begin to get into that music it switches again to some 1940 big band jazz, heavy on the trombones, cornets, and saxophones. Umm, why? Despite the red bikini, Rio looks a little lost. Maybe she has to go to the bathroom.
Which is where we appear to be moments later; the big band jazz fades away and Rio is before a mirror in what is clearly a prelude to another bath. This time, it is an infinity tub, indoors, with the forest right outside the windows. For once the music fits, and is soothing as she relaxes in the tub.
  |
Although this scene reveals little of Rio's amazing body, it is the best scene in the video. They use some interesting fades, Rio looks so tranquil, and the forest green which slips in and out of
view is both a visual aid as well as a soothing element to the scene.
|
The next and last scene has Rio adorned in a towel. She's out on the wooden deck fanning herself. The forest surrounds the home. Rio adjusts her towel to
ensure that it won't come off, and so we are assured of seeing about two inches of her mighty cleavage. And that's the end of the DVD. OK, not quite. They tack on a
"making of" segment in which the real Rio discusses something with someone
— nothing special here — as well as an outtakes segment.
  |
What did I think of this video? Well I won't recommend it for a few reasons. Too little of Rio's bust is shown.
With only a few exceptions, the music and the scenes are mismatched. There's a charm to the mountain village and forest-y scenes but the constant immersion factor is somehow not always as sexy as you'd like.
Probably a very different video might have been made with this
footage. Chance would be a fine thing.
I think it was a good idea
that went astray. There was probably a very different video that might have been made with this footage. But the design and overall production variances took a lot away from this sweetheart of a model. Three point zero. |
