As promised in the June issue, we have the Rio Natsume companion DVD which was part of a pair of videos shot on the Pacific island called Saipan. If you were with me for that issue then you will recall my overview — that Rio had lost some meaningful inches from her formidable bust-line, that the producers, Air Control and MeLON, had squandered too many minutes having Rio involved in some decidedly poorly conceived activities like hula-hooping and pogo-sticking, and that overall, Cow Girl was scored as the lowest rated Natsume DVD ever.

Time to take a look at Missionary. This is a 2-hour, 2-disc, Region 2 DVD
— so much for the numbers. But let's get right to the most important question. Did
Missionary match Cow Girl in mediocrity? No way. This is a well made video featuring a Rio who looks better as well as bigger.
There are no pogo sticks or hula hoops. No baseballs. No bicycle riding. Replacing those activities are scenes in a shower, a swimming pool, a splash pool, and a flower strewn outdoor bathtub.
No pogo sticks or hula hoops? For shame! By way of exchange, we get a less stressed-out, more contented Rio. Other girls will no doubt provide lots of fun for hula-hoop fans in due course. |

Instead of asking Rio to jog under the midday sun and talk at the same time — here they have her paint her body in day-glo paints. Instead of asking her to jump rope in sandals, they have Rio looking sexy and glamorous in a black evening gown. I surmised last month that Cow Girl had to be the second of the two videos shot in Saipan. In Cow Girl, Rio often looked exhausted, unhappy, or decidedly run down. In Missionary, Rio has lots of energy, charisma, as well as lots more of the oomph, if you know what I mean. We know women have cycles, and some days the breasts look bigger than on other days. But it's not just the cycles is it? There's a lot more going on — diet, rest, hydration, as well as mood. |

So, as you look at these images from Missionary, you will be unable to escape the following conclusion. Hey, Producers — don't make the idols do two videos on one trip. Don't make them do silly stuff. And most of all, do everything you can to let the model be sexy instead of sporty, have them smolder instead of sweat, and most of all, place them in romantic settings instead of jogging tracks. The second disc has some documentary footage, outtakes from the first disc, and a look at what goes on behind the camera. Also of note are the coming attractions. Other models will do sporty for us as well. We can only hope so, anyway. |

You can count Missionary as a wonderful Rio Natsume DVD. And while it is true that she looks smaller in the tit department than she has in previous years, at least in this DVD it's the exception rather than the norm. When I started the process to get the vidcaps from Missionary, I noticed that reflector business where they posted some guy just off camera to wiggle that reflector and make the light play over Rio. Once or twice would have been enough; using this gimmick in virtually every outdoor scene was overkill. So it's going to cost them a quarter of a point. The rating is three point seven five.
