Allison
and Thaddeus were coming to a decision regarding Remmix's offer.
They discussed the matter during a weekly massage session in
their apartment's living room. Thaddeus had Allison work his
back with her hands. As Ally diligently performed her massage,
Thad looked at a tri-dee projection of the data provided by
Remmix. "If you'll pardon the phrase," Thad said casually, "the
city that Remmix chose for us is virgin territory. Blossoming
Bodies will be the first bodysculpt business to operate in the
metro area in over 170 years."
"What
happened to the last one?" asked Ally, moving her massage to
Thad's shoulder blades.
"Neo-Luddite
extremists burnt it to the ground. They claimed that the operators
of the business were in league with the Devil. After that, even
if a woman wanted something as simple as liver spot removal,
she had to go all the way to Kansas City."
"Kansas City. That's south
of the place where the Blossom building is going up, right?
What's the name of that city again?"
With his 'ware, Thaddeus
scrolled the tri-dee image back up to the pertinent data. "North
American continent, the old state of Nebraska. The city is named
Omaha. Population within a 40-kilometer radius of the city center
is one point one million..."
"Okay. I don't need the
whole encyclopedia." Ally kissed the base of Thad's neck. "The
Omaha market appears to be large enough to make the Blossom
store viable."
"The Marketing and Research
Departments certainly believe so. Demographics for the 16-to-35
and 80-to-120 age groups are perfect to the penny. In terms
of percentages, of course." |
| |
"Of
course." Ally moved her attention to Thad's waist. "Both age
groups have the money to spend and the need to shape their bodies
as they see fit."
"Speaking of money, Ally,
I'm sorely tempted by the salary I'm being offered. How about
you?"
Ally stopped her massage.
She had Thad roll over so she could look at him. "A 40% increase,
plus bonuses if we exceed our monthly sales targets. It's not
just the money that's making this interesting."
With sly hands, Thad started
to undo the buttons on Ally's blouse. "Oh? What else?"
"It'll be an adventure.
A young couple sets forth to give the gift of nanites to the
breast-starved masses on Terra." Ally undid the buttons Thad
couldn't reach. Her copious bosom was freed from the restraint
of the memory-plastic blouse. "Terra is the change of pace I've
been looking for."
"I'll take that as a yes."
Thad's hands found their way to the underside of Ally's bust.
For him it was like holding two large spheres filled with thick
gelatin. "Running a data network for over 1,600 planet-wide
Blossom locations is a challenge I must accept. How else can
I prove to myself and others that I'm the best?"
"You don't have to prove
anything to me, my Thaddeus. What you just said could be construed
as an affirmative reply, yes?"
"Oh yes, Ally. My decision
is as firm as the norks I'm holding now."
"Thad!" Ally giggled sweetly,
her bosom jiggling delightfully on her chest. "You behave. How
are you going to start your massage session on my body, hmm?"
"I believe I'll start with
a cleavage depth survey. My nose will be used in the effort
to find your sternum. Then..." Thad brought his face closer
and closer to Ally's bosom, "...I'll perform an air permeability
test."
"How's that performed?"
Ally asked devilishly.
"Like this." With his face
ensconced between Ally's basketball breasts Thad let loose a
strong exhalation. A blast of air exited the top and bottom
of Ally's cleavage.
Ally had a hardy laugh.
"Oh, that tickles! Do it again, you pleasure demon!"
Pulling himself briefly
from Ally's front, Thad looked up at his woman with lustful
eyes. "I cannot help but obey the orders of my melon queen."
"Hey! You're wasting air
that could've been spent on tickling me! Put that swell head
of yours back between my norks."
"Of course, my queen!"
Eventually, Ally did get
a proper massage that night. Eventually (wink). |

With their
personal goods already packed and sent ahead, Allison and Thaddeus
just carried the bare necessities needed for the five-day journey
from Outback to Terra. In one of the many departure lounges,
the couple received their good-bye hugs and handshakes from
family and friends.
Thaddeus' grandparents,
Tobias and Samantha Eddings, were there as well. As with all
grandparents, the twosome gave Thad encouragement and advice.
"Thaddeus, my boy," said
Tobias, a retired police officer, "let me say that we're proud
of what you're doing. However, I hope you've done your homework.
The more extreme Neo-Luddite elements on Terra are known for
their campaigns of harassment and vandalism. They may not be
able to do much in the larger cities where the Police have more
resources, but I'm concerned that a small city like Omaha would
be a more tempting target for their efforts."
"Grandpa," Thaddeus said
reassuringly, "one million people don't make for a small city.
It's not a West Bumfold Crack."
Thad's silver-haired grandmother
Samantha giggled. "I'll be silly, Thad. Some Terrans think that
New Darwin is such a town - with a population of 14 million,
I may add."
"I guess that's the price
of popularity, Grandma. We get more tourists from Terra than
any other planet."
Tobias nodded. "Yes, yes.
That comes with the territory. For your territory, though, you'll
need some unique help." From his coat pocket came a familiar
minicomp. Though it was clad in a new case, Thaddeus knew what
his grandfather was handing him.
"Grandpa." Thad tried to
shy away from the offered device. "I can't take him."
"I insist," said Tobias.
"More importantly, Stamp insists. He's hasn't been off-planet
for over 92 years. I feel a change of pace is necessary for
this little machine to develop and enhance his personality."
A harumph was heard coming
from the minicomp's speaker. "Little, yes, but not in intellect.
I can be of great help, and provide hours of entertainment for
you and Allison."
Thaddeus took Stamp in hand,
looking at the unique minicomp with an accepting face. "Of that
I have no doubt." He placed Stamp in the inside pocket of his
jacket. "Thanks, Grandpa. I'll take care of him."
The Eddings gave their grandson
a group hug. "You're the one in good hands, Thaddeus. Good luck."
Meanwhile, Allison was engaged
in farewells with her own family. Her parents, Marsha and Benjamin
Jarvis, also warned her about the Neo-Luddites. She knew about
that already. It was the Terran attitude about breasts that
concerned Allison the most. On Terra, 84% of females above the
age of 16 were either A- cup or B-cup. 15.75% were C-cup, leaving
a microscopic .25% for that group of women D-cup or larger.
Considering that half of Terra's population of seven- point-
six billion was female, that fraction of a percentage point
was quite lonely, indeed.
With so many Terran females
running around practically flat- chested, Allison's 34L bust
would literally stick out like a sore thumb in any social situation.
Due to the Neo-Luddites and Flat Chest Society's influence,
Terran women had come to see their busts as necessary evils,
for breast-feeding their babies. Indeed, immediately after their
babies stopped breast-feeding, women took the lengthy trouble
to get nanite injections to reduce their breasts to pre-pregnancy
size. Allison readily imagined the veiled whispers and gossip
her bust would surely cause. Being referred to as 'that bubble
woman' and 'breast monger' didn't concern Allison as much as
being shunned and ignored just because of her bust size.
Lynnae Jarvis, Allison's
maternal grandmother, sensed the melancholy her grandchild was
feeling. She gave Allison a hug. "Hey, what's with the gloom
on your face? Having second thoughts?"
"It's not that, Grandma.
I'm thinking about what's waiting for me on Terra. Hordes of
deprived women will stare at my chest and make inconsiderate
remarks at my..."
Lynnae silenced her grandkid
with a finger to her lips. "Hush. It'll be all right. There's
one thing in this world that you have no control over, and that's
the opinion of others. Just be yourself. Live in a way that
will show everyone that you're entirely comfortable with who
you are and how your body is shaped."
"I'll remember that, Grandma."
Dipping a hand into her
vest pocket, Lynnae retrieved a bronze badge and handed it to
Allison. "Here, take it. This is the very first badge I received
when I joined the Police back in 2405. It's considered good
luck for a person to own an officer's first badge. I have more
than enough luck to see me through, and you'll need a little
extra for your new venture."
Allison handled the 104-year-old
bronze badge like it was the most precious object in the universe.
"Oh, thank you, Grandma."
"Thank me later. Your shuttle
is about leave." Lynnae gave Allison another hug. With a final
set of handshakes and spoken farewells, the young couple boarded
the shuttle that took them up to the awaiting passenger liner.
Now only five days separated them from their adventure. |
