It's been a while since I did a Ranma episode so I did it in the style of the series. Ryoga has a new trick and he kicks Ranma's ass with it the first time and now comes the analysis of the item.
I want Ryoga to make a few rolls to get interest from the Ranma cast, then he has to re-roll his stats when it becomes obvious what the die is.
So Tuatara any options jumping out at you?
Hmm…I'll have to think about it a bit. I actually didn't really expect you to go with this one. I figured you'd have him lose to Ranma, because (as was pointed out to me by a friend with whom I shared the episode just before I posted it) Ryoga has crappy luck as a rule. Two excellent rolls in a row? So I'd been thinking of possible outcomes to him losing the fight. On the other hand, it does fit the Ranma pattern of Ryoga coming up with a new trick that Ranma then has to learn to defeat. Except in this case, Ryoga will eventually end up defeating himself.
Plus, doing so well at the start means his fall is going to be even greater.
Interesting story, but with Ryoga rolling a natural 20 shouldn't that have been enough to send Ranma to the hospital at least, or does Ryoga have some negative modifiers?
I'd like to see him wish for a curse for his curse and roll a 1. lol.
Yeah, I thought that too. That's why I didn't have him roll a 20, since I didn't want Akane screwing him on the spot or suddenly declaring she wanted to marry him. But a 20 in a fight should *probably* mean at least hospitalization. But puking his guts out is still a pretty sound defeat for Ranma.
Detriments an interesting concept. I was just going to have that hit mess Ranma up for a couple of days because that move bruised his organs. The only reason Ranma is puking instead of in the ICU is his inhuman toughness but currently a strong enough hit to the gut could pop something.
Also I bet no-one knows where that move came from.
And if Ryoga fumbled on curing his curse well that could do anything from locking him in his cursed form the next time he changes or he starts turning into a pig man every time he changes beack to human from pig.
I would say Ryoga has some detriments and hell in the next episode I should write up his current stats.

I'd say that rolling a 1 in curing the curse would ensure he'd never be cured, but he could just roll again, no? I guess that's a question I have in general. Couldn't he just re-roll for stuff constantly? He asks Akane out, rolls a 4, and she says no. (Or maybe kicks him in the crotch too for his trouble.) So he asks again and rolls an 18, and…she spins from hating him to jumping at a date? Or is that not how it would work?
It works like that but Akane would realize that something is affecting to her. She might notice Ryoga rolling the die and grab it for herself but if she rolls it for herself to test it. She would have to re-roll her own stats.
When the stat re-rolls come we should have a before stat then an after stat.
And I'll write a scale for stats when the next episode is added.
You guys realize that I'm not going to add the next episode someone else has to.
I don't like writing two epsodes in a row unless its at the start of a thread or has gone dead for about a month.
Well, I haven't come up with any great ideas with which to follow up on this. It wouldn't be too satisfying if he lost the die already, and I haven't figured out anything interesting to do with the alternatives. But I'll keep thinking on it.
I just added to the first option and when I go to check on the chapter, I found it gone and asking me to write a new chapter even though the chapter is listed in the "chapters written" bit for stuff done on 1/25. Was it deleted due to someone not liking it? Or is this just a glitch in the system?

Indeed. The episode did get created, and other people can see it, but as the original writer the "Creating Episode" page sometimes gets stuck in your browser cache. Hitting Refresh or Ctrl+Refresh ought to let you see it.
