Don't know why it didn't work, as I copied the HTML syntax from an episode where an image did display.
I think the problem is that your URL points to a web page, rather than pointing directly to the image file -- it would probably have worked if you'd used the URL http://www.whatsyourobsession.com/images/2010/cs-moore-alice-in-wonderland-statue-1.jpg instead; that's the URL for the first image on that web page.
