Good ideas. But with the Book of Rules…how would the user "break" the rules? The rules of reality aren't rules in the sense of being points of guidance, like in a game, but are absolutes. There's no breaking them.
Let me clarify that.
When you write a rule the people you specify to be effected by it think it's always been like that. Like all virgins over the age of 20 must wear a V on their person at all times.
Everyone except the writer of that rule or any other rule would think that is normal. Now if an unaware person breaks the rules they will get a punishment for breaking it, if there was one specified. But if the person who wrote the rule broke it something strange would happen based on the rule. Like if they broke this one they might be changed into a worn out whore or be cursed with eternal virginity with a V mark on their body that couldn't be ignored.
So they only people who can really break the rules are the ones who write them.
Ohh. I see. Well, that's a bit different than what I was thinking. I had started brainstorming an episode, but I'll have to take a somewhat different approach to it if I want to write it.
Your "Book of Rules" is essentially the "Tablet of Destiny" aka the "Book of Destiny"
