I figured that Sharon probably wouldn't want to put more than one ring on a finger, so that to wear more than two rings she would need to make use of more than just her ring fingers. Her middle fingers, in particular, might have a slightly larger circumference than her ring fingers, and if she slipped the binfing ring on one of those she might have difficulty in removing it again. That idea would probably work best with my option 2 (which was deliberately worded with it in mind).
