Due to the vagueness of Rei's command the processor had to deliberate on how it should make this come to pass with all of its power.

One possibility is Misato and Ritsuko went on a bender of legendary proportions pissing of the Commander so badly he used his pull to have both of their legal status changed to minor's and put Rei as their legal guardian as a on-going punishment which the NERV charter gave him the right to do. There's a reason why absinthe is illegal.

Another possibility is that a Sync Test gone awry caused all three women to change ages, so that Ritsuko and Misato were physically 14 and Rei had matured into her late 20's. Due to some legal quirks Rei ended up as their legal guardian and as a result of the test Misato and Ritsuko became candidates to pilot the Eva's and Rei could exert some strange motherly authority over both of them via the AT field.

Even stranger an covert psychiatric evaluation had both women declared mentally incompetent, and Gendo had Rei placed as their legal guardian and caretaker to appease the system and avoid an investigation that would have pissed off SEELE.

There was an accident in the Reiquarium, Ritsuko and Misato came out and a pair of blonde and purple haired Rei's came out claiming to be them, with no memories of not being a Rei despite obvious issues. In order for them to be studied they information was altered so they are Rei's fraternal twin sister's under Rei's care.

Ritsuko did it to herself and Misato as part of her dumb blonde routine what she didn't know was Asuka was a licensed Notary under international laws.

What Happens next?

  1. *It's due to a punishment but does Gendo use this as an outlet for his insanity? Also how do they all deal living with each other?
  2. Sync acident how are the two adpating at their second Teengage years? Especially when they have to fight the next angel?
  3. While Ritsuko loves the fact she's been declared too stupid to take care of her self how does Misato handle the fact she can't be served or buy alchohol anymore?
  4. So is there any other changes to them now that they are moddified Rei clones?
  5. Rei shrugs it off as Ordinary and keeps types in the privacy of her room inside the large home of Doctor Akage where she Misato, Shinji, and Asuka live.
