"Will we fit?" Sharon asked dubiously. "It was because we've outgrown our own cars that we had to resort to a cab."

"I've quite a big 4 by 4," Trish said. "I think that you'll be OK. Hopefully the seat belts will stretch far enough."

They did - just - and Trish drove Sharon and Jim home. During the short journey, Sharon had an idea. When they arrived she said to Trish: "I know that this will sound crazy, but I have a t-shirt that I think will solve your milk problem. Don't laugh, but it's genuine magic."

Trish was too polite to laugh, but she was clearly sceptical. Sharon dug out the "Got Milk?" t-shirt and handed it to Trish. "I can understand your thinking it's nonsense, but please try it on when you get home. After all, it can't do any harm. Let me write down my phone number for you, and you can let me know how you get on."

"OK."

  1. Since Stevie is sleeping peacefully, Trish stays for a while at Jim and Sharon's invitation, for a cup of coffee and a chat.
