Blah blah blah. Did this brat ever shut up? That's all she was, Naru could see it now. A brat that seemed to speak entirely in complaints, corny jokes and excited squeaks about this or that. She'd long since tuned out whatever her former friend was talking about. Now that she saw Usagi in her true light, it was hard to really care about anything she was blathering on about.

Was this all part of her act? Behave like a total ditz to better hide her true self. In which case she'd been maintaining the act for years now. How much of their friendship was real then? How much of it was this act?

Now now Parfait, let's not lose our temper, said a voice in her head. We are not quite ready to confront Sailor Moon head on yet. Unclench those fists of yours, create a little space between the two of you. Give yourself an opportunity to calm down.

I apologise for my lack of control, mistress Amelia, Naru telepathically replied. Do I have permission to find an appropriate new recruit?

Certainly, Amelia replied. I would have you show some discretion, do not recruit any of our enemies... But certainly, do recruit anyone else however you wish.

Well now, that was certainly promising. Even with that restriction there was a wide open field in front of her. A casual look around revealed there were certainly plenty of potential targets, but for her first conquest Naru wanted someone special. Someone that stood head and shoulders above the other options, someone that would really...

And then Miss Haruna walked past, prompting Naru to realise exactly who it was that she'd be targetting first. How could it be anyone else? She hid a smile, and stared back at Usagi's stupid face for a while, pretending to listen to whatever inane thing she was blathering on about now, wait for the gap in the conversation...

"Um, sorry Usagi but I have to talk to Miss Haruna about something. We'll talk more after school, okay?"

"Sure thing Naru! But, are you sure you're okay?"

"Quite perfectly," Naru replied. Usagi's head tilted and she shot what must have been a well practised look of concern before turning around and walking away, occasionally glancing over her shoulder. Naru watched her walk down the corridor, and she did have to admit to herself one thing. She may be a deceitful bitch, but it was taking a hell of a lot of effort for Naru to resist trying to take her there and then. But no, mistress was right. That revenge would have to wait.

It was an apple. Just a healthy, nutritious and yummy apple. It was also her lunch. Miss Haruna's stomach lodged a formal complaint by way of a sinister sounding growl, letting her know that this would not stand and that she simply has to have something more than this measley apple to eat. No no she would reply to herself, this was all she was getting. She was on a diet this week, and this was all she was allowed to have today.

To which her stomach replied that this particular diet simply wasn't working, given that she'd put on weight since starting it.

"Um, Miss Haruna?"

She turned towards the door, feeling rather embarassed all of a sudden. "N-Naru! I didn't see you there. Please come in. How can I help you?"

Naru didn't answer at first. Instead she simply smiled, entered the room and closed the door behind her...
