"It is good that our territorial dispute has been resolved in such a decisive manner. Then again, you always did think you were stronger than you really were... You may either leave this place, or stay. Which do you choose?"

"I shall stay, mighty Ranma!"

He lowered his head to her level, and whispered in her ear. "You realise what that would mean, yes? What is yours would become mine. You understand that, yes? And you also understand that we can never truly be together. Not as husband and wife, not even as lovers. We must take human consorts. You shall be little more than my servant, an ally... at best a friend."

"I know this. I do not know how I do, but I do. Must have come with the powers, or something."

Ranma shrugged. "Very well, then. You know, it's a shame we didn't do that sooner. I'd been wanting to do that for the better part of a year."

"I suppose that's the tragedy of the situation," Akane replied. "I also wanted that. What shall we do now?"

"Arise, Akane Tendo." Ranma smiled at her, and extended his hand. "Together, we shall conquer the world. But first, let's get our clothes back on and then I'll fill you in."
