Concubine Factory 1/2: Ukyo's Makeover

Unending BE - episode 811006

This was the place on the address. Would it really be able to help her? Would it really be able to give her what she wanted? This must be the way in, and - Hold on a moment. Did that sign say "Deliveries Only"? Ukyo stared at it for a moment. It looked like it had said just that, but no, it must have been her imagination. This was the right place after all. This was the place which promised to help her out. In all honsety, she was beginning to get a bit desperate... So in she went, in she went to see if they could do just as they promised and get her what she wanted. What she deserved.

"Welcome Miss," the friendly receptionist said. Ukyo stared at her. If this was the sort of results this place could get, then maybe there was something to it. "Do you have an appointment with us?"

"Y-yes. My name is Ukyo Kuonji."

"Of course Miss Kuonji. Just one moment." The receptionist turned to look at her computer, typed in (presumably) Ukyo's name, and turned back with a smile. "Yes, of course. If you would please proceed down that corridor, following the red line on the floor. She's already prepared for your arrival."

Not much else for it, then. No turning back now. In she went, following the red line. How appropriate. A red line would wind up leading her to the course of true love. At the end of the line, she found a large room with hairdryers, mirrors, a massage table tucked away in the corner, hangars with beautiful dresses on them, and so much more besides. Of particular note was the glamorous woman in the chair at the back, smiling at her with appraising eyes. She was wearing a red blouse with matching skirt, and her hair was jet black, tied in a long ponytail down her back. She almost looked like a living, life size doll.

"Welcome, Miss Kuonji! I will be your beautifier for the evening, Miss Print. I have to ask, why did you feel the need for our services?"

"Well, see..." How best to summarise the complex situation involving her and her future husband? Ranma's life was a bit of a mess. "There's this boy, and -"

"And say no more! There's always a boy. I'll fill in the rest, shall I? You want to win his heart, his affection, but you feel he's ignoring you. From your manner of dress, you feel that he doesn't view you as a girl. Yet you also feel that if you went too girly, he'd not recognise you at all! Quite the paradox, but I can resolve it for you. Let's start with your hair, and you can tell me about it in more detail."

Ukyo reluctantly sat with her back to the sink, and let Miss Print work her magic on her hair. Being told she'd be having her hair shampooed, well, Akane had mentioned that little story about that troublemaker. Perfectly understandable that she'd be a little bit worried about letting someone else shampoo her hair. But really, what did she have to worry about? There was nothing magical about that shampoo. Nothing at all to worry about, though she did stifle a yawn which seemed to come out of nowhere.

"And then he said it was a shame, 'cause I was kinda cute," She closed her eyes for just the slightest fraction of a second, they suddenly felt so heavy... but she opened them again immediately, continuing her story "and in spite of myself, I fell for him all over again..."

"Ah, young love. Come on, you're done here, let's get you into the hair dryer and you can continue telling me all about it."

She'd never really been under a hair dryer like this before. Seated under a mechanical contraption that engulfed her head. Funny, she didn't even remember getting up to walk over to the chair, and was just in it all of a sudden. Wonder how that happ- ohhhhh. Oh, that felt wonderful! The way the heat blasted her head was almost like a massage, and the really weird thing was that the heat seemed to be spreading down her body, a welcome warmth unlike anything she'd felt before. It felt so good! So good! And there were these strange, soothing voices coming from nowhere. She strained her hearing to make out what they were saying, but couldn't quite manage it...

"All done! There, doesn't that feel better?"

Ukyo nodded, and unwillingly rose to her feet. "How does it look? Can I see?"

"Ah-ah! Not yet, I'm afraid. Wait until you see the finished product," Miss Print said, brandishing some odd looking clothes. "I would like you to put these on, Miss Kuonji. Would you mind?"

"What are these things?" she asked, examining them closely. They looked sort of clear, transparent, and most importantly very, very tight. And it looked like it would cover her entire body, from neck to toe.

"Think of them as a training outfit. You did mention you are a martial artist..."

Yeah, they were every bit as tight as they looked. It was so hard to move in these things! Whenever she tried to take a step, it would constrict around her leg muscles, and - hey, wait a minute. When did she put this stuff on in the first place? She didn't remember putting this on!

"Are you having trouble, Miss Kuonji?"

"Damn right I am! How do you walk in this getup? What sort of training outfit prevents you from even taking a step?"

"It's a very special outfit. You mentioned earlier that you spent a large portion of your life disguised as a boy?"

"What about it?" damn, this was getting so frustrating! She had to take this stupid outfit off, but no matter how she tried to twist her body or turn around, the stupid suit restricted her movements.

"I fear that you have developed some ingrained habits. You have developed body language traits usually associated with men."

"So? What does that have to do with anything?" Damn this suit! If she got half the chance, she'd tear it apart!

"How do you intend to attract a young man, when you are yourself acting just like a young man? Perhaps you believe you have some special insight into his mindset? Some special trick that will surely win his heart? If so, then why are you here at all? That is what this suit does. It restricts masculine body language and encourages feminine body language."

Miss Print strode out towards Ukyo, standing directly in front of her for just a moment before turning around in place. "Watch me, dear. Watch my body, and try to copy how I walk. See?" She took a step forward, in deliberately slow motion. Alright. Let's try that approach, then. Ukyo gave it a go. Copy how Miss Print walked. Raise the foot like that, and - Ugh!

"Wh-what the hell was that?"

"Oh, I forgot to mention. How silly of me!" Miss Print knocked her fist lightly against her head, in a cutesy display of forgetfulness. "Proper body language results in a reward. Take another step and see for yourself."

She did, and the same thing happened again. And again when she took another step. It was funny, but all she was doing was walking around the room and it felt like she was walking on air. Not a care in the world. It all just sort of floated away like a cloud, off into the distance never to be seen again.

"That ought to do quite nicely."

"Huh?" Ukyo blinked rapidly, her eyes felt somewhat blurry all of a sudden.

"Your body language training is complete."

"But we just started! We can't possibly be finished already!"

"Just started? Ukyo, we've been training for over three hours. Here, let me take this suit off. There, doesn't that feel better? Now try walking over to the hangar there, and watch how you walk."

A bit of an odd request, but off Ukyo went across the floor towards the hangar. She'd gone three steps before she noticed it, and stopped dead. Through sheer force of will she tried taking another one, and found that it was the same as the first three. Her steps were so much smaller, her legs straighter, her back too. It was an utterly ladylike stride, even in spite of her best efforts to do otherwise. It was as if her body had forgotten how to act any other way. As if she'd always walked like this, even though she knew for a fact that she didn't.

"This is just the first part of your true makeover, Miss Kuonji. Next, we'll deal with your wardrobe."

"How is this one responding to the treatment?" one of the scientists asked.

"We've not introduced our client into her dream yet," the other replied. "But we do need to do some more mental preparation before we reach that stage. She's not exactly his sort of girl yet, you catch my drift?"

"A few of them are like that," the first sagely noted. "Come on, pick up the pace, we do have a deadline."
