SGLN: Sir Galahad gets his bearings
Unending BE - episode 720489
Sir Galahad sprung out of bed, ready to face this latest test, whatever it was. However, as he approached the door he suddenly remembered his state of undress.
"Just a moment!", Sir Galahad shouted, "I am ashamed to inform you that I am not presentable just now!"
"I don't know what you're up to with that accent Jim," came the response, "but I don't have time for it! I've got an important meeting this morning! Just get dressed, grab your lunch off the counter and make sure you don't miss the bus! If I hear from the school about you being late again, you're grounded for a month!" 'Bus'?, Sir Galahad briefly wondered, but was snapped out of this latest reverie by the sound of footsteps descending down stairs outside the door.
"Milady!", Sir Galahad shouted with a start, but too late he heard the slam of a door and the house was quiet.
Taking some time to investigate the room, the bewildered knight found many more sources of befuddlement, but tried not to linger on them for long. There were foul deeds afoot, of this much he was sure, and time was critical now.
Searching the dresser he found many articles of clothing, most of them in strange cuts and fashions he barely recognized, but their basic shapes were the same: loincloths, pantaloons, tunics, shoes. As the knight began to dress he found the clothing to even be strangely well-fitting.
This 'Jim' must be a worthy knight, Sir Galahad thought with approval. He tightly secured the borrowed pair of pantaloons with a belt, donned the longest white tunic he could find, put on a pair of the strangely soft shoes and turned to examine himself in the mirror.
At least my visage is still familiar, he considered as he closely studied his reflection. Glancing lower, he silently pledged to reimburse this 'Jim' for the temporary use of his clothing, if nothing else. With a deep breath, he turned and left the room.
The rest of the house was no less a mystery, filled with strange, probably magical objects constructed with materials he'd never beheld. He forced himself onward, at last arriving at what appeared to be the front door. Standing before it he mentally prepared himself for whatever wonders he might encounter on the other side.
Then he opened the door, resolutely vowed to overcome this latest test, and finally stepped outside.
- *A large yellow wagon of sorts was awaiting on the path outside. 'School Bus', Galahad considered. Suddenly, it sounded some hidden horn.
- Sir Galahad's mouth drooped open in utter amazement as he beheld the massive, clearly man-made structures all along the horizon.
- "Hey Jim! Do you have the pills?" asked a rotund young man standing on the doorstep.
- "Who are you?" prompted an older gentleman standing by a nearby shrub, holding a large pair of shears.
