Jim in Hell: New Allies
Unending BE - episode 631252
"Alright," said Jim, "I'll join your little group, for now."
"Excellent!" said the redhead called Theodore, shaking Jim's hand vigorously. "We can definitely use another able body."
"What Theodore here means," said the girl with the seven-foot-long hair, the one who called herself Peter, "Is that it's nice to meet you and you can count on us to look out for each other."
"Right, sure," said Theodore.
The busty, shackled Asian girl named Eric mumbled what sounded like a welcoming noise, though it was difficult to tell with that gag in her mouth. The final member of the group, the little girl in the Marines T-Shirt, said nothing.
"Well, then," said Jim, "what now?"
"Well," said Theodore, "This hallway isn't actively filled with poisonous spiders and the walls aren't closing in on us, so I suggest we take the opportunity to rest while we can."
"We can get to know our new companion a little better," said Peter, sweeping her trailing golden locks out of the way and sitting down on the grated floor.
The other followed suit, and the group sat, riveted, Jim began to tell the the others of his exploits up to that point.
He;d barely gotten to the point where he traded Sarah's life for his own, though, before the grating upon which they were sitting started to shake, violently.
"Uh-oh," said Theodore, "Looks like it's time to move."
The five damned souls stood unsteadily on the vibrating mesh.
"You guys all know the drill," said Theodore to his original companions, shouting to be heard over the rumbling around them. "Jim, keep an eye out for threats. If you see anything, anything at all, that wasn't there a minute ago, report! If it's alive, I decide whether we run or fight. You don't do shit until I give the order, and when I do, we act as one, got it?"
"Yeah, I got it," said Jim.
"Good, 'cause if you bail on us in a fight before I give the word to run, I'll hunt you down and pin your ass in the middle of an escape door 'till you're so fucked up you can't even move." said Theodore.
Just then, an agitated moaning drew their attention back to Eric. The gag in her mouth was preventing her from speaking, of course, but the source of her anxiety was obvious: not two feet from where she stood, the metal grating had broken apart and a large piece had plummeted into the abyss below, leaving a gaping hole in the floor.
"Shit!" said Theodore.
"The walls!" said Peter, point to the pockmarked stone, "look, they have hand-holds."
"Right, Climb!" said Theodore.
Jim and the others immediately began to ascend the walls but Jim's attention was drawn to the panicked moans of the busty Asian below. With her hands and feet chained together, she could barely hobble, let alone scale a stone wall.
"We have to leave him," said Theodore. "There' no way we can carry him up this wall. He'll just have to use another escape door."
It was at this point, watching the panicked oriental, that the full danger of their prison truly dawned on Jim. Each escape door you took reduced your ability to overcome the next challenges, meaning you continuously had to take more more and more escape doors, until eventually you were so disabled you couldn't even do that, and fell victim to whatever happened when you died in this place. It wasn't a pretty thought.
"I found a ledge!" said Peter, her Rapunzel-like hair trailing below her from where she clung, twenty meters above Jim. "Come up here, guys, it leads to another hallway."
Jim started to climb, but was distracted by the renewed moaning of the busty Asian. Looking over at her, he realize that the floor beneath her had fallen away, and she was clinging to the wall, unable to move. She was less than a foot from an exit door, but there was no way she could get through without releasing her only grip on the wall and plummeting to her doom. It was obvious that if someone went down there to help, she could probably be pulled through the escape door without falling. Of course, with no floor, that would mean that her rescuer would have to take the escape door too, in order to pull her through.
With Peter by now far to far away to help and Theodore and Charles indifferent to the girl's survival, the only one who could help her was Jim. Jim let out a heavy sigh. He knew what he had to do:
- *Ignore her and climb to safety! The stupid bitch should have gone through the door when there was still floor around instead of wailing like a baby.
- *Go down and help her! Theodore would probably just leave him to die later if he stayed with them, anyway.
- Do something else! Jim's always got a backup plan up his sleeve...
