Ranma was wondering how the heck this had happened. Ifurita he knew about, and had already specified that she would be his student in the martial arts specifically to avoid engagement woes.
So here the universe, or that Second Chances store, or something else, had specifically given him a new fiancee into the mix. An ELF no less. Which was hardly typical for Tokyo, even if you WERE the best martial artist around.
