Reassigned Sharon: Heading for the Village

Seeing no obvious alternative course of action, Sharon set out to walk to the village that she could see in the distance. It couldn't be more than a mile or two away. At this distance, there was no way of telling whether it was an elven or a human village, or even a settlement of some other intelligent race.

As she walked, she pondered her strange predicament. She still thought of herself as a "she", even though she supposed that she was arguably more male than female now. After all, she had male reproductive equipment, which she had no reason to believe was less than fully functional. Admittedly everything else about her still seemed to be female, but that could be said to be cosmetic in comparison.

If this is the traditional sort of fantasy world, then I don't suppose it will have very advanced medicine, she thought. So I can't expect to find a National Elf Service - hah! - that could restore me to fully female. I doubt that that would be possible even back home. Making me appear fully male would probably be much easier - a double mastectomy and hormone treatment - but I don't want that.
