The intrepid pair found the main lab after a decent amount of stumbling and blind luck.
“There they are!” Tracy shouted. Every one of their missing friends were still here, caged like...well, animals. With the exception of Sarah, Eve, Zoe, and Veronica, all were in their human forms.
“Tracy!” Emily called out.
“Becky!” Beth shouted.
I knew you’d res-s-scue us-s-s, Eve hissed.
“Hang on, cats and kittens,” Becky smirked. “We’ll have you all out of there toot sweet!”
Tracy exchanged a look with Becky as she set Kate down and approached the main computer.
“Ooh,” Philo groaned in bodily ache, as his surroundings slowly came into focus through letterboxed eyelids.
He could see lockers...mops and brooms...a latticework of reinforced rope.
“Cripes...this is embarrassing,” he grumbled.
He searched the pocket of his lab coat for the emergency release control, praying it hadn’t been damaged. To his relief, the small device was still intact.
With a counter-clockwise twist of the small gray dial and a push of the red button, his Mag-Net deactivated itself. The eccentric scientist quickly recovered his wits and his weapon, making his way to a terminal in an adjacent room.
“Scan all sectors for undocumented bio-forms,” he stated, waiting for the results.
A smirk crossed his face when he saw them in the main lab, attempting to manipulate his computer. They were as good as caught...
“I can’t figure this out,” Tracy announced.
“What’s it say?” Nathan called out from his cage on the upper left. “I can’t see the screen from up here!”
Tracy and Becky turned their attention toward the screen.
