Ranma's mother had thought her son most manly.
Ranma's mother had made a deal that proved she was indeed the sort who could marry Genma. A touch of foolishness, a touch of pity, and a touch of blindness.
"One touch of his flesh and the transformation shall be done," said the daemon.
"I see, and the price of this?" asked Nodoka.
"The price is the chaos done, and chance the reduction of possible opponents of mine to the playthings of a mortal," said the daemon with a smile. "One touch and the spell shall leap to any female that could normally mate with a human male. Thereby e'en darkstalkers and makai princesses may be brought low. One touch and they will hearken and cleave unto him, to be his slaves and lovers, to worship and adore him, for him to fill with his seed and quicken life in their bellies, to be his pets and his puppets and his slavewives."
"That seems generous," said Nodoka, not trusting this development.
"Well you are to be cautious," said the daemon. "Yet I am a daemon. Neither a servant of Heaven nor Hell am I, bound by forces ye need not know of. The wish of another I can grant with powers that exceed mine own. This is my curse and my boon, for mine own desires directly I cannot slake."
"What would you wish then," asked Nodoka. "I speak merely from curiosity understand."
"Myself? These broken wings would I mend that I may ascend the sky again. These ancient breaks would be healed that my limbs be clean and strong again. I would rise above the land and be free of the cage that I have fallen to. Nay, mortal. My penance I work on, and twill take ten times ten thousand of your lifetimes more to attain. Yet a penance it is and in an eon or two will have earned my parole." The daemon chuckled. "Thank you for asking though. Not many in your place would even go through such etiquette."
"How long will this last?" Nodoka asked, turning the conversation back to their deal.
"Last? Those affected will cleave to him forever," said the daemon. "The touch itself will cease to spread after one week. After that, he will gain no more converts to his cause."
