Elianna Sjhklebvotsky had been a rising star of the secret police of the People's Republic of Deepest Slavistan when that former Soviet satellite had sent her to America to be a spy,eavesdropping on American intelligence and preparing for the inevitable triumph of world socialism.Seductively beautiful though she had been,she had been sent initially under grad-student cover to the area near a missile base in Iowa,with instructions to get a job and residency and await orders.

The People's republic was no more,and now she was Ellen Hockmore,with a high school age son and junior-high daughter and travelling salesman husband,and not much exciting her in life.
