Emily looked not the least bit disheartened to find Rhonda and Loupy asleep in her bed. She simply traded bedding for the day, and along with Michelle, settled down to sleep on Rhonda’s futon.
When all of them awakened later that afternoon, Loupy talked with her pack about her options.
“I’m afraid to call my doctor, or go to a hospital,” she confessed. “They’ll draw blood. They’ll know.”
“She does have a point,” Michelle admitted sadly.
“Well, we can’t just let her get worse,” Emily replied firmly. “If we don’t do something…”
Rhonda stroked Loupy’s hair as they talked. “I think it’s best if she used the silver bracelet again tonight. Changing just seems to complicate it. I’ll stay in with you, of course.”
Loupy smiled and settled her head against Rhonda’s shoulder. “Anyone know someone who’d be willing to operate on a werewolf?”
“And would keep their mouth shut afterwards?” Lisa added.
Emily thought about it for a while. “Actually, I think I do…”
