Everyone gazed to where he’d indicated. They saw an open grave, with turned earth beside it, and footprints leading out of the grave and through the cemetary gates.

"Zombie Nation," Nathan said, "Don't tell me there's undead lurking around this world."

Veronica checked the tombstone at the grave. "This one belongs to a Kylie Davidson," she said, "I wonder who that is."

"It's me," a voice said. They all turned in fright and saw a twenty-something girl. For being dead, she looked great.

"I dug my way out and escaped. I won't go down without a fight," Kylie said.

"Stay back, dead girl," Beth said, wishing she had some fang to flash.

"Dead? I'm not dead!" Kylie said, "Don't you read the newspapers? They're not burying the dead, they're burying the..."
