The five tumbled through dimensional space (with Becky “wheeee-ing” gleefully the whole time), finally running out of wormhole and crashing in a rather undignified manner on another city street.
“Did we actually escape Libidon?” Nathan wondered, scanning the darkness of the evening city.
Veronica looked around, not seeing any of the telltale signs of rampant sex characteristic to Libidon. “Looks like it. Beth, any ideas…”
She froze in mid-sentence when she saw Beth, and Morgan, who were both in mid-transformation to their hybrid tigress forms. They growled as their bodies shifted and expanded.
“Hey, look,” Becky giggled, pointing up into the sky at the brilliant full moon. “It’s really pretty!”
Veronica followed her lead, while Nathan realized what was unique about their surroundings. Everything, from building entrances to cars to newspapers, was built large and reinforced and tear-proof. A delicatessen sign advertised a lunch special on raw steak (“The best raw meat in Lycanthrocos!”). A nearby clock indicated that it was 3:44…in the afternoon.
Most strikingly, everyone around was a lycanthrope of some type. Fox, rat, dog, elephant, bull, and every other shape, size, and species were milling about like normal citizenry would. There were even a few tauric werecreatures.
Nathan looked back at Veronica. “Are you a little nervous right now?”
Veronica grimaced. “Nope. Not in the least.”
