Beth and Becky gathered up Morgan and carried her with them, trying to find a safehouse.

"Let's go to the shack," Beth said, but Morgan replied with, "We can't. They burned it during the attack."

They continued to walk, and then Becky spoke up: "Hey, wait a minute. If the 'past' Beth and Morgans are dead, then how can you two continue to exist? Shouldn't you both just fade into nothingless and cease to be?"

Beth realizes that Becky is correct. Watching the Back to the Future movies so many times had taught her basic paradox comprehension skills, and this was a perfect example of such a space-time continuum glitch!
