“Listen, Morgan. We’ve got to leave.”
Morgan shook her head. “What? Listen, if it’s a privacy thing, no one else seems concerned.” She looked back into the room, empty except for them.
Beth sat up on the couch, stroking Morgan’s spiky black hair. “I want you, Morgan. But as we are.”
“I don’t follow.”
“Please get dressed and follow me.” She rose, pulling on Morgan’s arm. “I’ll explain when we…”
The front door, the dining room partition, the hallway. All three exits from the living room were blocked by Miriam, Diane, and Amy. The weretigresses growled in warning.
Morgan’s jaw dropped. “Holy shit…they’re really real…”
Amy, seated comfortably in the hallway, cocked her furry head. “Beth…not leave…”
Beth shook Morgan’s arm, scouting for a way out.
Diane took a silent step forward from the dining room. “Beth…Morrrgan…mates…”
Morgan’s eyes widened with seeming excitement. Beth’s widened in terror.
Miriam roared from her sentry point by the front door, snapping the girls’ attention to her. “You join us. Now!” She leaped at the girls.
