The girls explained all that had happened, bringing Amy's parents up to speed. All Amy was able to contribute was occasional short answers and nods. When the story was complete, Amy's parents asked for a moment alone with their daughter, so the girls left, closing the door behind them.

"They have a lot to talk about," Beth said.

"Oh, to be a fly on that wall," Diane remarked.

A few minutes later the door opened and Amy's parents came out. Jake said...
