“But you said it was my birthright! You can’t take away something that’s a part of me!”
The volcano rumbled around her, as though it would shake
itself from the very Earth. Foolish girl. I can do
whatever I desire. It is my right as an ancient.
Before her, a thick pool of magma coalesced into the shape of a massive red dragon, belching flame and burning boulders into the air. Geysers of molten rock blasted up all around Charlotte, who took wing and hovered amidst the spurts.
“There is nothing you can do to harm me. I am fire, and lava, and the burning fury of the Earth. I am a red dragoness!”
The magma dragon laughed with a deep gurgling. You are delusional. You are nothing but a human girl, who thinks she understands what it means to be a dragon.
The spires of lava closed further toward her.
“Erigo donacta incinerate. I am fire; I am the burning.”
Gorbash raised a liquid eyebrow, and scoffed. He reared back, absorbing massive amounts of magma to hurl at the partial dragoness before him.
Through her third eye,
“Draconis neo bondi. Red dragon, become one with me!” She shouted
and threw her hands to the heavens, spreading her wings wide as Gorbash unleashed every drop of magma he had summoned into
her hovering body.
