Charlotte and the volcano: Lava bath

Charlotte had barely enough time to give herself last rites before the lava washed over her. Her skin flared red hot at the contact with the molten rock. She felt its searing heat all the way through to her bones, and was silently amazed at how little it hurt to be melted alive. 

It took her a few seconds to realize that she wasn’t dead, nor even in pain. The incredible temperature felt more like a luscious sauna, a massage with heated oils across her entire body. Her skin felt much different, and she opened her eyes to inspect herself, still covered in the flowing fire.

Her skin was burning, no, she thought, shedding, painlessly away; beneath was a full-body armor of thick scales, as brilliant red as the lava fire. Her wing scales had become red as well. Her hair was gone, replaced by a scalp of crimson scales. She found the ear she had pressed to the door was now a fanned dragon ear, and her opposite human ear was quickly following suit.

Charlotte smiled broadly; she liked these changes, and hoped for more. Her attention turned to the door. The draconic runes had now faded from it; a quick inspection of Charlotte’s body told her that her breasts and stomach now bore those runes on her scales, bright with magic.

The lava flow was beginning to ebb, and she took wing over the top of the volcano, intent on checking on Sharon. Strangely, no lava came down on any side but Charlotte’s, and she had absorbed almost every drop. Even more bizarre, the half-dragoness slept through the whole incident.

Charlotte hovered above the volcano mouth, contemplating her next move.

  1. She dives headfirst into the mouth of the volcano, since she can now survive contact with (and maybe be changed further by) the magma within.
  2. She returns to the door, and seeks entry.
  3. She wakes up Sharon, and fills her in on what happened.
  4. *Gorbash's voice speaks to Charlotte in her mind.
  5. Charlotte continues to transform...
  6. She is surprised by...
