Sharon took a cursory glance at Charlotte, and found that nothing about her had changed...yet. "I don't feel any different," Charlotte said, somewhat relieved.

"The changes will no doubt take time to begin. Until they do, you can stay here with us. We will explain all you need to know and can assist me during my final transformation," Sharon said.

"But I have a life," Charlotte said sadly, "I have a job, a boyfriend, a family, a degree to earn... I don't want to just leave it all behind."

"I'm afraid you have no choice," Nobokai said, "What's done is done."

"But you said I have time," Charlotte said, "I want to go and close out my life. Say my goodbyes, settle my affairs. I'll come back before I change."

"You cannot be trusted," Nobokai said earnestly.

"No, wait," Sharon said, "I believe her. She reminds me of myself before I came here. I believe she will return to us. It is her destiny."
