Rick's chestless corpse slumped bonelessly to the ground as Madison and Captain Kirk watched in horrified fascination as the Dream Demon slowly savored the tasted of Rick's blood-filled heart. When it was finished crushing the orgasn with its yellow, needle-like teeth, the creature drooled and licked its digusting lips.

Kirk had seen enough. He drew his phaser and fired at maximum setting. Moloch screeched, hurled curses in some foul tongue, then vanished in a puff of acrid, sulfrous smoke.

"Captain!" Sulu and Scotty yelled, coming up behind Kirk. "What was that thing?"

Kirk began to answer, but just then, all four of them noticed a gray shadow inside the once-secure room.

The shadow was moving toward the Staff of Law!
