Captain Kirk came to see her, and she spent her time trying to convince him of her sanity. She told him again and again that Samadhi, the evil servant of Lord Foul, had fled from her when Sulu's photon torpedo had struck her in Rick's cavern. Finally, she thought he was beginning to listen to her.
Unbenknownst to Maddie, Kirk had received several reports in the last hour of anomylous readings from the planet's surface. The sensors showed 40 life signs most of the time, but sometimes showed 41.
Kirk was also confused...he had no idea where the Enterprise was, or what the planet below them was called. They didn't appear to be in any explored segment of the Milky Way galaxy!
Madison was sitting alone when she heard an awful shrieking sound. It was Rick!
But isn;t he surrounded by sound-dampening fields? Madison thought to herself. The captian told me he had them in place.
More screams reached her ears, mixed with Rick's strange magical language, and explosions. Finally, all went quiet.
Kirk and three security officers ran in to her room a short time later.
"We have had an incident," Kirk said gravely.
