Raven and Shadow were still at Mieou's hideout. Aluara and Jim had apparently left hours ago, taking the one they thought was Mieou with them. It was odd to Raven being in the house of an enemy with her lover who was also her enemies brother, but a lot of stranger things had happened this evening, and things were only promising to get stranger.
Raven had stripped off her Cindy disguise and it was draped over a chair in the bedroom where Mieou had lain only hours ago. She was lying in bed, naked, with Shadow. They had just finished some love making and were now talking about there future.
"What should we do, Shadow?", asked Raven. She had already decided against trying to sieze all the power for herself. She was starting to think of ways to outsmart fate and take Shadow with her to the time of man and Eugenics Amalgamated. "I think that together, we can change history to our benefit now that we have prior knowledge of what lay in store."
"Raven, Shade told us that we already went back in time and were slain, the study of our corpses enabled Eugenics Amalgamated to create anthromorphic humans.", said Shadow.
"How can that be possible if we are still alive now?", asked Raven.
"We haven't left yet.", replied Shadow.
"That's what I'm driving at Shadow. How do we know Shade was telling the truth. Maybe she just wants us to fail because it would put her existence at risk.", said Raven.
"You mean because if we are successful and sieze control of the parent organization from the past, Dark would never have come about by Meiou's hand because we would be in Mieou's position in this world?", asked Shadow.
"Precisely", said Raven.
"Why don't we give up this power quest and just go someplace quiet. I have my sorcery and lots of money. We could be quite comfortable up north, or even in the deep south.", suggested Shadow.
"I won't feel safe until Dark and Mieou are gone.", said Raven.
Shadow leaned over and gave the vixen a kiss on her forehead. "Well, we need to decide whether or not we should go through with this or whether we should just get married. I vote for marriage." What do you think...
