The next morning, Alex awoke with the confidence that he had the perfect lover that he wanted. He planted a big kiss on Austin, who mumbled something incoherrent and then rolled over to go back to sleep. Rachel awoke in a chair nearby, she was still dressed as Jim and her back ached terribly. Jim stretched and then pulled the zipper on his skin and Rachel stood in his place. The back pain was instantly gone as Rachel was now no longer wearing Jim.
Alex smiled brightly at Rachel and said in a sing songy voice, "Good morning!" Rachel just shook her head and said "I am not a morning person Alex. Get 'Austin' up, we need to get out of here and see if we can find what happened to Mieou."
Alex was delighted with himself and was hoping beyond hope that Rachel would really believe Austin was Austin, and most of all that Cheyenne would now believe she was Austin. He nudged Austin and playfully pushed him out of the bed. "Alright, Alright already!", said Austin. He got up, snorted, and lumbered into the bathroom. "There's a dead snake in the f*cking shower and I can't use it!" Alex began to snicker.
Rachel was gathering up all the suits that were in the room and packing them in a bag. She got into her Aluara disguise and looked around the room once more. "Where's the Cheyenne suit?" she said out loud. Alex looked away and pretended not to hear. Just then, all attention was drawn to the bathroom.
"AAAAuuughh!", whinnied Austin like a balking horse. "Where's the zipper! I don't have a zipper!"
"What?!", asked Rachel.
The door flew open and Austin stomped into the room. "The zipper on this suit is gone!", Austin was groping at his back in a panic "F*ck no! F*ck no! I can't believe it! I'm stuck as my ex boyfriend! I don't want to be Austin!" Austin was actually crying like a little colt.
Rachel shot Alex a stern look. "Alex, did you do this?!"
Alex squirmmed a little and couldn't look either Rachel or Austin in the eye. "No...", he mumbled.
"Bullshit!", roared Austin, as his personality started to come forward in the suit Cheyenne couldn't escape. He started to lunge towards Alex who sprang from the bed and took a position by the window, ready to leap out if need be. Austin stopped himself as Cheyenne's personality took control. "He's just a kid.", said Austin out loud. "A confused little boy who doesn't know what he's done." Austin paced back and forth while he snorted and ran his fingers through his mane.
Rachel glared at Alex. "Alex you have to change Cheyenne back to who she was. Being in a costume is a lot different from being the real thing. If someone doesn't like who they have become, they can always take it off." Austin was crying like a girl now and Alex was starting to feel a little guilty about what he had done.
"Please Alex.", begged Cheyenne/Austin. "I know you think you love Austin, but why would you hurt me like this. You said that if you were Austin you wouldn't treat me cruelly because you thought I was nice. How is this different?!"
Alex squirmed some more and was getting upset. This hadn't happened the way he planned it at all. Alex was also angry, who were they to tell him what he could and couldn't do. He was going to be a true wizard some day. They were treating him like a kid. Rachel and Austin's voices just blended together as Alex shut his ears.
Alex heard Austin saying something about how the real Austin could never love him becasue he wasn't gay and that tore it for Alex. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!", he screamed as a bright light filled the room and Alex teleported himself out of there. He was angry, hurt, ashamed and embarassed. His pride and juvenile longing wouldn't let him admit he was wrong and then take corrective measures to do the right thing. He wanted Austin and that is all he knew. For now...
