Rachel was powerless to stop Dark Rabbitsbane from killing Sthyth and making off with Meiou. She couldn't just race off and tell the others Mieou was missing because they still believed Rachel was Aluara and Orchid was really Jim. Rachel knew she had to think of something fast so she pulled Sthyth's corpse into the bathroom and coiled him into the shower. Not knowing exactly why, she was compelled to give Sthyth a kiss on his lipless mouth. As an afterthought, she picked up the human skin that had been a copy of Jim and threw it into the shower as well. She then put the Aluara costume back on over the Orchid suit she was wearing. She dressed in Aluara's clothes and picked up her katana.
Rachel, now Aluara, decided to go to Adrixen's and Sasha's room. She had to persuade one of them to go with her while the other remained behind for the meeting. She raced down the hallway and arrived in front of the door to the fake rabbit couples room.
