The three walked out of the closet with the costumes they had selected draped over their arms. They had been discussing taking extra suits along in case they needed other identities, but were going to ask the young rabbit girl what she recommended in referrence to the roles they had selected. In other words, how were they going to fit within the scheme.
Once they were in the main room, they stopped talking as they noticed there was a whole lot of anthromorphic animals standing around the room. There was a skunk, a coyote, a female panther, and a badger. The skunk and the coyote were holding some sort of high powered shotguns and were wearing body armor made of kevlar and what might have been a flexible ceramic polymer. The panthress had some sort of translucent, yellow sword that emitted a low hum as it vibrated at an unprecidented modulation. The badger was wielding a rather wicked looking spiked club. Neither of these two were wearing armor.
Worst of all however, was the one anthro whom the trio hoped they wouldn't see. Sthyth the cobra was standing behind the small rabbit, he was holding her up by her ears and her feet were dangling a couple of inches off the ground. He held a wicked looking cutlass like weapon to her throat. It was covered in runes that seemed to writhe and twist of their own accord. At the rabbit girls feet was the Sthyth suit that the group had played around with earlier. Sthyth was grinning wickedly and not a hint of compassion showed in his cruel, cold, reptillian eyes as he tail slapped the costume of himself forward and it slid across the floor at the feet of Rick, Cheyenne, and Jim.
Time seemed to stand still and Jim had a strange thought. 'I've surely missed Sharon's birthday party by now. Couldn't I have stayed in bed? Damn...'
Sthyth said only one thing and his voice dripped with venom and the promise of unrestrained violence should he not be pleased by the answer. "Explain...", He hissed...
