Cheyenne finishes the incantation that the odd rabbit girl pointed out to her and suddenly, the hollow suit on the bed begins to fill out of it's own accord, and the zipper seems to disappear from the rabbit girls body. Her eyes flutter open and she sits up grogily on the edge of the bed. "Oh, it's so good not to be empty.", she says. "Quickly now, open the closet and look at the costumes inside. We'll need to figure out who you all need to be in order to proceed with our mission." The rabbit had a child like exuberance that belied any underlying danger that Rick, Jim, or Cheyenne could be in. Her whole attitude tended to put them at ease as if this was some sort of game instead of some really wierd and dangerous business.
"I have a few question's first.", said Jim to the rabbit. "What are all these costumes for and why do some of them seem to have personalities of their own?"
The rabbit girl giggles and says, "Well, there are two types actually, but they all transform. Some of them represent actual, living individuals and have been innundated with a component of their psyche to create a personality mask. For example, the cobra suit in the hallway, that is the mysterious Sthyth. He really exists out there and he is an assassin for an organization called the Order of the One.", she shudders a bit as the mentions the name of Sthyth and the Order. "The female dog you were wearing earlier, Cheyenne, is a research pathologist right here in this city. The poor lady is always in heat because she has contracted a rare disease which imbalances her hormones."
"What is the other type of costume?", asked Rick.
"They are just elaborate disguises that change your appearance and senses. They are not based off of any real individuals and are used for missions where an appearance needs to be modified without clouding ones own personality or skills."
"So we could like use these to replace individuals, commit crimes, cause wars and do all sorts of mayhem?", asked Jim.
"If you are so inclined, I guess someone could.", said the rabbit. "The major problem facing Meiou is that he doesn't have the only supply. Someone else has the same abillity and they are using it for precisely those purposes."
"In our investigation, if you could call it that", said Cheyenne, "We found copies of ourselves. There were a couple of me, a copy of Rick, there was even one of my asshole ex-boyfriend. What is the significance?"
"You have important roles to play in this struggle", claimed the rabbit, "and it is possible that outside forces have already begun to move against us.", the child rabbit seemed wise beyond her age now and was deadly serious. Cheyenne, Rick, and Jim...
