Her father nodded gravely. "And you know what that means..."
Marjorie thought. "To be continued? Ellipsis? Something left out?"
Her father scowled. "What? Do you jest with me? Have you gone mad? Are you sick?"
"No," Marjorie said thoughtfully. "I don't think it's one of those. I'm pretty certain it must be one of my choices..."
"It's something else!" her father shouted.
"What, we're both wrong, then?"
"No, you little ninny! That's what it means! It means 'something else'!" He shook his head, muttering "Mother warned me not to marry a Valles Marinaris girl..."
Marjorie flashed him a brilliant smile. "I get it! So what particular 'something else' is it that our laws and customs dictate?"
