As the paralysis slowly wore off, Jim and Sharon moved to hold each other for comfort. Jim had heard rumors that Biotech was up to some bizarre experiments, but he'd never expected anything like this! Floating inside Carol's womb, Jim heard the doctor's raised voice talking to someone. She sounded surprised an upset, but her voice was quickly muffled. A few minutes passed, then light began to fill the womb as an incision was opened above them. A harness was lowered, and Jim and Shaorn both grabbed hold as it lifted them out of the womb.
Jim looked around and saw Rick and Candace standing in front of them! Rick was naked and covered in a wet substance that glistened in the light. Candace was wearing only a lab coat, which was open to reveal her large breasts and enormously swollen belly. At her feet were the clothes that the doctor had been wearing, and as she stood there, a ripple spread across her belly like someone trying to get out. Jim watched in fascination until the movement stopped.
"Candace? But the doctor said that you were working for Biotech - and that you were going to do something awful to Rick!" Sharon exclaimed, puzzled.
She smiled, saying, "Doc Smith was partly right - I've been working under her on this project for a year now. She just didn't know that I'm actually here to sabatoge their operations. Her project would have worked fine - if I hadn't switched a few vials around on her. As it is, the two of you would have just remained inside Carol unchanged indefinitely."
"What about Rick?"
"I made my own modifications to that part of the experiment - If I want, I can make it work as intended, but I can just keep my passenger inside unchanged as well. That's how I got Rick past security when I heard that Jackie was usig you and Jim as test subjects."
"So now how do we get out of here?" Jim asked.
"First, I'm going to have to finish things up here," Candice said, as a large contraction rolled across her belly. Jim and Sharon watched in surprise as the doctor's unconscious body was slowly pushed out through Candace's vagina. Candace seemed to really enjoy the process. Neither of them would have believed that it was possible for the human body to stretch that much if they hadn't seen it, but they took it in stride, having already seen some pretty wierd stuff happen that day.
Candace continued speaking as Rick dragged over the unconscious form in a guard's uniform. "Now, we need to get those umbilicals off of you," she said, pulling a scalpel off of the table and taking it to the umbilical cords cnnected to Jim and Sharon. She tied off the ends, then took out hte same cylinder that Dr. Smith had used on them earlier, and used it to attach one of the umbilical cords to the doctor, and th other to the guard, who Rick had just finished undressing. Carol then reached into her lab coat, removing a syringe. She injected the contents into the two unconscious figures, then strapped them into one of the harnesses and lowered them into Carol's womb. Sealing the incision once more, Candace said, "There, that should put an end to Jackie's experimenting days. Now, I just have to replace her records with my modified copies." She walked over to a terminal and began typing. Ten minutes later, she stood up again. "There, that's finished."
"What if there are backups? Or if someone comes and lets the two of them out, like you did for us?" Jim asked.
Candace shoke her head, saying, "Don't worry about it. I know about the backups - I changed them yesterday. One of my jobs was to be in charge of the computers. Anyone who tries to reproduce the experiments will get a rather spectacular disaster. Jackie's the only other person who knows the correct formula, and she's in no condition to tell anyone."
"As for their escape, Jackie's always been big on privacy when she's working on an experiment - no one is allowed in here until morning. That's why she was so upset when I came in - well, before Rick came and grabbed her, anyway. She won't be missed until tomorrow, and by then they won't be able to get her out of Carol alive even if they do realize what happened. They shouldn't, though - as far as the records are concerned, Jim Russell and Sharon Thompson were successfully enwombed within her, and when the scans report a male and female child inside Carol, they won't bother with DNA tests until after the birth, if at all. As for the guard, I've altered his records to show that he's off on leave for a week right now. His relief isn't due until morning, anyway." Candace paused, then continued. "Jackie wasn't really that bad a person, and if I didn't have to smuggle Rick back out, I'd have considered keeping her for myself. Oh well."
"So now what do we do?" Sharon asked.
"Well, if you put on Jackie's clothes, I can smuggle you out as my assistant. As for Jim..."
