DJ Woohoo and JigSaw 'ported in to the railroad tracks.
That's funny, Elizabeth thought. I was sure DJ would bring in some big guns, but just her and JigSaw?
Sawyer didn't seem to find it odd, however. He chortled and rubbed his hands together in glee. "Look!" he cried. "The dumb ass even brought the Slurpee!" He turned the volume up so they could hear every word...
The lizard girl on the tracks squirmed and struggled against her bonds, her eyes wide in appeal toward the newcomers.
"Hey neat this is just like those old movies I used to see as a kid," said JigSaw. "Seems like there oughta be a train, though."
In the distance, a train whistle blew.
"Cool," JigSaw grinned, and sipped at the Slurpee. ("Nooooo!" screamed Sawyer. "The fool! Doesn't he know what that is?")
"Boy is this good, I bet I can lick ten tigers today," said JigSaw smacking his lips.
Meanwhile DJ frowned. "It's too easy," she said. "There must be more to this than meets the eye."
"Why?" JigSaw asked, reasonably. "This is me we're dealing with, right? So--"
"Right, he's just a dumb cluck like you," DJ finished. Her mouth curled in a sneer. "So you figure this is the best he can come up with, eh? Just who does your twin think he's dealing with, JigSaw? Don't worry, Elizabeth, I'll save you!" She gestured with her hands and a new line of track appeared, along with a rerouting switch.
"Hey I get it!" JigSaw cried. He went to the track and yanked the lever, and about half a minute later the train came and went down the other track.
(Sawyer shook his head. "No sense of style. Don't they know there's got to be a countdown? They should have whipped up a big bowie knife and slowly sawed through the ropes, freeing her with only instants to spare, and then the big 'Continued next week' blurb comes up..."
Obviously these two saw the same movies as a kid, thought Elizabeth, momentarily forgetting that they had been the same kid...)
DJ was off merging the new track back with the main line so the train could go on without jumping the tracks. "This is too easy," she muttered, there's got to be some trick here..."
(As Sawyer rubbed his hands together in glee...)
...and JigSaw, realizing DJ was distracted, took advantage of the opportunity to cop a feel of the bound lizard girl's breasts...
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
The explosion obliterated the picture on the tube. When it cleared, there was no sign of JigSaw, the lizard girl, or DJ, just body fragments and pinkish liquid everywhere.
"Noooooooooooooo!" screamed Elizabeth. She turned her face away from the picture and saw Sawyer staring at it aghast.
"They fell for a simple booby trap?!?" he yelled. "Could they really have been that dumb? My triumph -- spoiled! The Slurpee, gone! God damn it all to hell!"
Elizabeth had no heart for cursing. Inside her, it felt like it was breaking. Streams of tears rolled down her red scaly cheeks as she mourned her lost lover...
Sawyer clenched and unclenched his hands, his face growing redder and redder. Then a different look crossed his face. "It's a test, isn't it?" he muttered. "Just like mine, they're trying to gauge my power. Like your girlfriend said, It's too damned easy!" He turned his furious gaze on Elizabeth. "Come on, lizard-slut, we've gotta finish setting up the next trap!"
Could it be? Elizabeth thought, barely daring to hope. But Sawyer was yanking her along, and she had to go with him...
