Backstage Central: A Card for Rick

Rick appeared just outside the electrified fence surrounding Backstage Central. A little something Sid had arranged the last time he'd fixed the portals of the Backstage Hotel -- anyone trying to 'port in to Central from there ended up outside the fence. Sid didn't appreciate drop-ins from Backstage when there were so many from the AddVenture at large to deal with...

Rick range the bell at the gate, and shortly a cat-headed woman in a harem outfit appeared. "Ah," he said. "You'd be Mirage, right?"

"I would," she said. "You're the boy who just called, aren't you? Wait here, infidel, while I inform the Great One."

Rick mentally rolled his eyes as she departed. "Great One," eh? Had to hand it to Sid Russell, he did get the perks...

Then Sid was there. Not only there, but on Rick's side of the gate. Obviously, the old boy got the 'porting perks too...

"Hello, Rick," Sid said. "Here's the deal. I get to reward helpful individuals like yourself with one-time free passes to various points and situations of interest in the AddVenture. For conveying Jim's message to me, you get to pick one."

"This wouldn't be how Jim managed to get his orgy, would it?" Rick asked.

Sid chuckled. "Just so."

"Have any more passes like that?"

"I do indeed. Want to see what else is available before you go with it?"

"Sure."

Sid unfolded a deck of cards, fan-like, before Rick. Rick looked at them closely. They were labeled and colored like the "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards in the game of Monopoly. Only here, Rick suspected, "Community Chest" had an entirely different meaning...

And so it went. There were many others, of course, but Rick quickly lost track of them. "It's too much," he said. "How about I just pick one blindly and 'port on home to my own thread?"

"It's your choice," said Sid.

Rick picked a card and looked for a doorway.

"Allow me," said Sid, activating his Portal Opener. A portal wavered into being around Rick, and took him home.

  1. Rick looked at the card. It was the "Good for six (6) cup sizes augementation on two (2) breasts" card.

  2. Rick looked at the card. It was the "Change gender for specified time period" card.

  3. Rick looked at the card. It was the "Chance species to Furry of choice - permanent" card.

  4. Rick looked at the card. It was the "Good for six (6) inches penis growth" card.

  5. Rick looked at the card. It was something else.
