Joe, ever helpful, nodded and produced the phone from under the bar.
"Thanks," Rick said, flipping him a Sacagawea dollar coin. (This being the BE AddVenture, it was, of course, one that had her tits showing...) He picked up the receiver. "Backstage Central, please," he said.
Genevieve Perkins, the Backstage Hotel operator, answered in a sing-song voice: "Connecting..."
"Backstage Central. Mirage speaking. How may I direct your call?"
"I need to talk to Sid Russell. It's about something he asked Jim to do."
"Hold on, please."
A moment later, Sid was on the line. "Yes?" he asked. "Who is it?"
"Rick Daguerre. You know, Jim's buddy? He wanted me to tell you he did whatever it was you asked him to do."
"I've sent quite a few Jim's on errands over the episodes," Sid responded. "Which one was this?"
"I dunno. He didn't say."
"Well then tell me what he did say. If it was the version of him I hope it was, this could be extremely important."
Racking his brains, Rick repeated everything he could remember of his conversation with Jim.
"Ah," said Sid. "Mentioned an orgy, did he? Thanks, Daguerre, I know which Jim you're talking about now. So he did do it!"
"Did do what?"
"Not something you need to know. Tell you what, though, since you've been so helpful, why don't you stop on by on your way back to the BE AddVenture?"
"What for?"
"For a token of my appreciation."
"Wouldn't happen to involve orgies, would it?" Rick asked, hopefully.
Sid chuckled. "Could," he said. "If that's your preference."
"I'll be right over!"
After the niceties of the goodbyes, Rick hung up. Hmm, he thought. This could be interesting... Thanking Joe, he made for the nearest doorway and concentrated on Backstage Central.
