Steel St. Ives awoke groggily, his tall athletic body sprawled haphazardly across the deep soft bed. He vaguely recalled some wild dream about being some insanely horny young black kid involved in all manner of inadvisable sexual relationships. He chalked it up to his libido sometimes roaming a little beyond his disciplined contraints, that plus lingering intoxication.

He was happy to awake alone, which was fairly rare for him, but he had insisted upon purely recuperative sleep, without all the teasing and toying and pleading and pouting, however well intended, that tended to come with a bedmate.

Sticking on some pajamas, Steel St. Ives -- or SST, as he preferred to think of himself (his original identity was a mystery, and would remain so if he had anything to say about it) got up and went over to his flashing phone. There was a message, and there was raely any point in putting a message off.

  1. *He is called to the shooting of a video by porn director Francesca Majestic.
  2. Media mogul Hobart Maddox wants him to personally select fresh new female beauty and talent.
  3. He is called to his somewhat mysterious duties as "morale officer" to the world-famous Brophy-Tunney Modeling Agency.
  4. An unusual case of male abduction has been sent to him by CUPID, the Center for Unusual Potentialities for Infinite Danger.
  5. *It's a call from the girlfriend of one of the most wanted men on Earth, whom SST is "turning" so as to help the authorites.
  6. *He receieves confirmation of his vactation in the resort community of Steam Lake, in the Deep Southernstate of Sauvagine.
