New Storyline: Fantos, the Halloween Demon

Unending BE - episode 106938

Autumn was in full swing. A chill ran through the air on Halloween night as a light wind wafted through the air.

As a full moon rose over the land, a peculiar-looking obsidian headstone caught the moonlight. Writing became illuminated and clear; an ancient warning, speaking of an ancient demon, sealed away long ago by a coven of wicca. Now, however, something was off.

"You sure it's buried here?" a young woman with black hair asked of her friend as she dug nearby.

"I told you Donna, the instructions I got were clear," a taller girl noted, her blond hair drifting in the wind. "Head to a lone obsidian grave, and lots of walking you will save."

Donna looked up from her digging and asked, "Where, pray tell, did these instructions come from?"

"Bernie," the blond replied.

Donna groaned, then said, "Barbi, you remember what happened on Labor Day when Bernie told you that the Labor Elf hid gifts in the ground?"

"Yes," Barbi replied.

"And that July 4th where Bernie told you that Uncle Sam hid fireworks underneath maple trees?" Donna asked.

"Yes," Barbi replied. "But this is different! She had a written, notorized document verifying..."

"Barb, face facts," Donna called as she stood upright. "Bernie is a practical joker, who doesn't confine herself to April 1st. She's a liar, plain and simple. And I wish you'd get that through your head!"

With those words, Donna slammed the head of her shovel against the obsidian headstone, causing a small crack to form.

"Ooh," Barbi noted. "That doesn't look good."

"You might have a point for once," Donna noted as she noticed the glowing writing. "How we didn't notice this writing before, I have no idea."

"Wish I could read it," Barbi added. "You've taken a foreign language. Do you know what it says?"

"It looks like Latin," Donna replied. "Unfortunately, I can't read Latin."

"Thankfully, I can," a voice noted. "'Whosoever damages this stone ebon and narrow, is cursed down to the very marrow. Contained within is a trickster creature, who will curse you to alter your features. While initially you may experience bliss, in the end all shall be amiss. Chaos is unleashed upon the globe if what is contained within is allowed to rove.'"

"Wow, thanks!" Barbi noted, turning to the source of the voice. Both she and Donna quickly looked at the being in surprise.

The being which stood before them was tall, clearly male. He was tall, and quite handsome aside from a few choice details; his eyes were a pure blood red, his fingers tipped with black claws, and his skin tinged a pale green.

Donna cast the man with a critical eye and said, "Thanks for the translation. Nice makeup. The contacts are a good touch."

"Makeup?" the man noted. "Contacts? M'dear, this is no mere theatrical wizardry, but the genuine article. I am Fantos, the Demon!"

"Fan-toes?" Barbi asked. "Sounds gross."

Fantos narrowed his eyes and asked, "Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are we?"

"I've noticed that," Donna added. "Anyway, you look real nice, and if you were about twenty years younger, you'd probably get a serious trick-or-treating haul."

"You doubt me?" Fantos asked. "Very well, let us see if you can deny your own two eyes."

With those words, Fantos snapped his fingers.

"What are you...?" Donna asked. Suddenly, she began to feel queasy. "Ohhh," she moaned.

"Donna?" Barbi asked. "Are you gonna barf?"

Donna gagged for a second, her belly bubbling out. She felt something bubbling up her mouth as her queasiness grew. Suddenly, she spat something out; a burger.

"Whoa!" Barbi blurted out.

The burger patty wriggled its way out of its bun, perfectly form and whatever digestion already performed upon it reversed. Slowly, the patty grew, gaining mass and form, before changing into a full-fledged cow.

As the cow silently chewed the grass around her, Donna looked at her former dinner in surprise, then turned to Fantos and exclaimed, "How did you do that?!"

"I'm a demon, ch1ld," Fantos explained. "Comes with the territory. At any rate, the two of you released me, and for that, I am grateful. In return for this wonderful gesture, I'll give you a gift."

"Candy?" Barbi asked.

"No," Fantos noted, snapping fingers on both hands. Both girls felt a tingle as he declared, "You'll be the first to suffer my curse. Have fun!"

As Fantos faded away into the night, Barbi turned to Donna and said, "I have a bad feeling about this, Donna."

"So do I," Donna admitted.

"Moo," the cow noted.
