"Don't worry, Ms. O'Shay. I'll do everything I can to help your sister. I'll be in touch," Mr. X said. He then froze time and went back to his car. He removed his suit and put it in the trunk, then restarted time. Jason turned and walked back into the library just as Connie was leaving. He found an empty computer with internet access and began searching for information on the Church of the Divine Light Wisdom. After an hour of digging with no results he decided to give up. Whoever these people are, they've concealed their activities well. It looks like I'm going to have to go straight to the source.
Jason went back to the car and drove to the local branch of the CDLW. Stopping time, he donned his suit and entered the building. He was surprised by the sanctuary's all-black interior. "I thought this was a church of divine light. Something's not right here," he mused aloud. Heading into the back, he found a normal looking office, which he ransacked. Unfortunately, he found nothing on anyone named Leila O'Shay. Back in the hallway, he noticed another door down the hall open slightly. Red light was coming out, and he could see several people in robes seated on the floor.
He walked over and opened the door all the way. Eight people were seated in a loose circle around a small statue of a strange creature. Deciding to try and get some answers, he pointed the remote at the "leader" of the group and hit the MC button. "You stay seated and answer all of my questions honestly. You will ignore the fact that no one else is moving." He then restarted time for the man. "Excuse me, but I have a few questions for you," he called out.
The man immediately turned toward Mr. X and said,"Who are you, and how did you get in here?" He tried to get up, but couldn't seem to do it. Then, amazingly, he managed to force himself to his feet. "You'll regret breaking in here, I promise you that!" the man said, leaping at Mr. X. Mr. X dove out of the way, and the fist which had been aimed at his face smashed through the wall behind him! The man pulled his hand free of the wall and prepared to pound Mr. X, but Mr. X rolled backward and used the remote to freeze the man once again.
Beneath the mask, Jason was shaken. He had commanded the man not to get up, and though he had seemed to struggle, he still got up. More importantly, he had punched a hole in a concrete wall! As Mr. X looked more closely, he noticed something unusual. The man's eyes were almost glowing red, and he had long fangs poking out of his mouth. "Wait a minute, that would mean....My God, they're vampires!" Everything suddenly clicked. They're need for secrecy, the black sanctuary, the man's resistance to mind control and his strength...., it all made sense. "If this is true, then Leila is in deadly danger. If I don't find her soon, she's doomed...."
