While the chief and the more senior officers were coming to similar conclusions and aplogizing to Mr. Davidson for accidentally killing his wife in the melee, Matt was assigned to watch over the three women who had been found inside the barn, near the erotic statue. None had moved from where they were kneeling,a nd each had a lost expression on their face as the gazed in the direction of the dead men.
As Matt gently tried to question them, they turned their gaze to him. Representative of all the others, Juli saw not a kind policeman trying to comfort her, but a man who she could serve. however, since Tarik's last order was for her to remain kneeling by the altar she could not move to pleasure him. However, she could speak to him, and so answered as he asked what she was doing there, telling him all about the cult of phallus, and their mission on earth, and her need to serve, but not quite getting to the part where she and Randi had once been teenage boys from just across the state line.
Matt was amazed at her story and would have dounted it, were he not convinced that the dirty-blonde bimbo on the end was indeed marla Davidson, who he had once dated. Now, Matt had a decision to make, he could be moralistic, or selfish. Since he lived in a sub-universe of the BE archive, he went the selfish route.
Seeing that everyone else's attention was focused on the cleanup outside, he ordered the women to make their way out of a back entrance to the barn and make their way through the woods to a hunting cabin his family owned just a few miles away. he ordered them to wait there for him.
Overjoyed to have a man to obey, Juli, Randi, and Marla did as told, managing to slip out unnoticed. Matt decided he could not easily explain the disappearance of the statue so he would not be able to take it and start his own cult of sex-slaves, but three would be enough.
Fortunately, in the confusion nobody remembered telling him to watch the girls, and so he was not singled out for punishment when their escape was noticed. After helping load the statues into the property van Matt returned to the station, where he and the other officers involved were told never to speak of the incident to anyone and sent home.
