MacGyver, EAT YOUR HEART OUT!

Unending BE - episode 68646

Sandy was, as I may have mentioned, a bit of a tinkerer; he was always making wacky gadgets out of random stuff, and sometimes they actually did something useful. This may have been one of the main reasons Mr. Black and Dr. Erhardt had always been so mean to him, because he was a mere janitor but able to invent things more often than they could. At any rate, he could put that skill to work now. "Now, if I was going to make something to call somebody, what would I need..." muttered Sandy to himself, looking around the beach. He was hoping to find a large conch shell that he could use as a sort of megaphone, or perhaps a piece of ripped-off sail that he could wave around as a flag. He was totally shocked, therefore, to round a large rock and find:
A 1930's style TRANSMITTER RADIO?!
"The HELL?!" wondered Sandy in amazement. "How did this get here? It's totally out of context with the setting! It's comletely wrong for an ancient mythological type of place!"
The answer came to him a moment later, "Yeah, yeah, it's a B-movie, I know..." Shrugging, he looked for the radio's on-switch and flicked it up, eliciting a large amount of loud static. Sandy covered his ears with one hand and then turned the volume down with the other. There, that was better. Feeling very silly, he held up the round metallic microphone and spoke into it.
"Uh, hello, to anybody out there...this is Sandy Corman and I'm on this island with like a lot of furry warriors and stuff...my friends have been captured and we need help. Over."
"We'll be there right away," said a voice over the speaker, and indeed, within seconds, because that's the way things work in Movie Time, someone had arrived.
Sandy's eyes bugged out as he saw that it was:

  1. Sinbad, with a whole ship full of scimitar-waving sailors!
  2. Hercules on a small raft, plowing across the entire ocean using nothing but his own legendary strength,
  3. "Commando Cody", a rocket-pack wearing dork with a funny helmet and a very FAKE-looking laser gun. (For those of you who have seen "Star Trek: Voyager", Commando Cody is a LOT like Paris's holodeck program "Captain Proton!" only with even LOWER production values.)
  4. *A cardboard spaceship crash-landed on the beach and five harried-looking astronauts staggered out.
  5. It was GAMERA, the flying, fire-breathing rubber turtle, friend to all children, with an annoying little kid riding on his back!
  6. It was something/someone SO strange that Sandy couldn't believe his eyes...
