Not working!?

Jim had had just about enough... not that he was complaining, but the fat dude was starting to annoy. So, acting on instinct, and all the martial art tournaments he'd seen (read between the lines: One half of one.) he lashed out with his legs, and struck air. The kick, which had set him off balance, caused him to go tumbling to the ground.
"Ahahahahahahahahaha!!" The chubby twerp twirled his cane, standing several feet away from Jim. "You call that fighting? HAH! I've seen pixies brawl better than you!"
Jim snarled, feeling the hair all over his body bristle as he pulled himself to his feet, his tails snapping back and forth wildly.
"I'm going to get you..."
"...sure."
Jim launched himself once more at the man, going so fast as to make Goku look like Slowpoke Rodriguez, only to be stopped in midair as the man deftly stepped to the side, ducked down, and jammed the tip of his cane into Jim's gut. The kitsune sputtered and gasped as the fat human lifted him up on the end of the cane and violently slammed him into the ground, causing Jim to spit blood as a grotesque crack was reverberated through the air.
"...you are now a member of Alphonse's Traveling Circus of Thrills and Ancients. Welcome to the show, Jimal the Kitsune."
The man walked off, leaving Jim to suffer on the cold floor of the tent...
- The next day: Jim's duty is to service any woman who chooses him as the mythical creature they want to do it with.
- The next day: Jim's duty is to perform magic tricks for children with his kitsune abilities.
- The next day: Jim's duty is to protect Alphonse.
- The next day: Jim wakes up to find that the circus has vanished, and that he seems to be surrounded by... pixies?
- The eternally faithful, omnipotent, Something Else.
