Rick looks out the window to see nothing interesting. He shakes his head, he must have drunk way too much coffee to stay up for his latest job last night. The light was only getting in now because he had forgotten to close the blinds on the windows in his room.
Rick sighs, and pulls a pillow over his head. It might take a short while, but he is soon snoring again.
When he wakes up later in the day, because of his alarm going off, he is a bit disoriented yet again. "What, huh?" Confused as to why he would he would have set his alarm to go off at 2pm in the afternoon. He begins to remember as he stands in the shower.
"Oh, yeah...darn night jobs..." he grumbles. Because he hasn't been able to hold down a normal job since graduating from High School his girlfriend has suggested that he work for her Aunt as a night guard at her toy store downtown. The pay isn't great, but nobody is around to bother him. The job description is simple, all he has to do is call the police if anything happens.
He eats breakfast, then spends the rest of the afternoon playing some computer games. Time passes quickly and he is surprised when his girlfriend walks into his place. "Have you spent on all day playing around with your Wii?"
"What, no, well, maybe..."
She sighs, "Well you'd better get your uniform on its time to go to work."
He wanders into his bedroom and puts on the dark blue slacks, light blue shirt, and dark blue jacket. He looks like a mall cop, he hates mall cops. At least he doesen't have to wear a tie. When he walks back out into the main room he finds Maxine watching "The View".
She smirks at how he uncomfortable he looks. He then rides silently with her, as she describes how all of her girlfriends spent the day shopping. They hug, when they arrive at the toy store and then he can only wave as she drives off.
"I gotta get me a car..." he mumbles, as he knocks on the back door.
It is opened by Lanna, Maxine's Aunt. "Ah, good. I can't keep replacing night watchmen, and I was wondering if you were going to show up."
"Why wouldn't I," asks Rick, puzzled.
Maxine shrugs, and lets Rick in. Rick looks around and is still sorta surprised that she is running a store like this in such a rundown area.
