"That's really very generous of you", Rick replied, "but all I really want to do is to go home."

As tempting as the offer to learn magic was, Rick knew that attepting to overthrow the king would be dangerous - else why would the wizard want his inexpert help? Of course he knew that refusing would be dangerous as well; but the ussual punishment for treason was death. Hopefully the wizard would decide that sending him back to Earth would be the best way to eliminate him.

"Very well", the wizard nodded sagely. "If that's the way you feel about it then I have no choice." Rick tried to remain calm as the wizard began to chant and make wierd gestures.

Then in a flashy show of special effects Rick...

1. was back at school.
2. >suddenly changed his mind.
3. *was a slave girl with her short term memory erased.
4. *became a carnivorous reptile (a sleen; used by the goreans in place of hunting dogs).puffed into a pile of ash - the addventure now returns to Jim.
