"Hmph! meditating indeed. No matter - to BATTLE, my sisters!" cried the brunette. The other amazons, including Jim, joined in, and the seven women warriors rushed to join the battle.
Jim's companions were very well trained, apparently, and fought well. Jim, however, had no training in warfare and proved less than competent on the battlefield. In fact, it was only through sheer luck that Jim survived - however, he (she?) was knocked unconcious and captured, as were two of her fellow amazons who tried to rescue her, including the brunette.
When Jim woke up, it was to discover that all three amazons were securely bound and gagged, dumped on the ground in what was, apparently, the camp of the men from the north. Many of the men there were nursing fresh wounds, a sign of the amazons' skill. Some, however, were intent on preparing for something, and it soon became clear to Jim that the men planned to:
