Caught on the Street

It had been strange enough getting all this attention from people on the street. Jim guessed that it may not have been the smartest thing in the world to head out in public looking like a centerfold from the furry edition of Playboy. There were a lot of whistles and more than one picture taken. Geez, at least no one knew who he was.
"Hey, Skunky!" A voice bellowed from behind him. Jim turned and saw an equally strange sight. A slim, well-muscled man was running down the street in jogging shorts and a t-shirt. What was remarkable was the huge squirrel-tail that blossomed and waved in rhythm with his running. A humanoid squirrel was running up to him. This day was getting weirder and weirder.
Jim just stood as the squirrel ran up, "Glad I caught up with you, Rose. C'mon, everyone's waiting."Jim just stood agog and the squirrel winked at him. He took Jim's arm and began to lead him down the street and into a slightly run-down apartment building. Once inside, the squirrel turned to Jim and…
- ...planted a lingering kiss on Jim's lips. He stared deep into Jim's eyes and muttered, "Where have you been, Rose?"
- ...frowned, "Who are you and how did you get out into the real world?"
- ...grinned, "Jim, it's me! I found you computer record."
- ...smiled, "From your confusion, I'd guess this is your first time in your true body."
- ...did something truly odd.
